Job Summary
Provides exceptional Earth Moving Equipment servicing and repair by using latest diagnostic technology and techniques to identify vehicle issues. Completes repairs in time allotted while keeping to dealer, brand, and company standards, and delivers vehicles to customers or service advisors on schedule.
Job Details
- Diagnoses and repairs equipment/vehicles accurately and within a reasonable time frame and with a quality of work that exceeds customer expectations.
- Performs diagnostic work accurately according to daily work orders as received from any manager including: emission control systems; throttle body injection; electrical problems on computerized vehicles; conditions between computer, ignition, and mechanical problems; anti-lock brake systems; cruise control; all non-computerized accessories; drivability problems; on-board computer problems; import fuel injection; import ignition on computerized vehicles; auto transmissions; computerized A/C systems; and four wheel drive internal components.
- Knows, understands, and performs all duties of the Repair Technician and Maintenance Technician jobs.
- Observes and follows all necessary safety regulations when operating machinery, equipment and tools.
- Conversant with the use of Diagnostic Tools (ET, SIS, EPC etc)
- Perform work of other members of the service department if business necessitates.
- Perform any other duties either necessary for customer service or perceived by or assigned to the job.
- Performs diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on many types of Equipment/vehicles while maintaining company and industry standards and adhering to time constraints
- Tests Equipment/vehicle repairs and communicates issues to service manager and service advisors; conduct additional repair work as advised by managers or advisors
- Uses manufacturer diagnostic equipment/tools to ensure diagnostics, testing, and repairs are thorough and to highest quality
- Maintains a working knowledge of a diverse number of motor vehicles Equipment and works to enhance and improve that knowledge with new vehicle Equipment models and new industry standards, practices, and technologies
- Replaces parts and components and keep detailed, organized records of all repair work done on each vehicle/Equipment
- Keeps work area clean, neat, and to company standards, especially to ensure safety of all team members Communicates with service managers about parts ordered, parts required, and timeliness of order completion
- Advises on other issues Equipment/vehicles display, including common issues equipment/vehicles of certain makes and ages develop, and offers timelines for future vehicle repair needs.
Requirements
- HND / B.Sc. Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
- 7 - 10 Years’ experience in the Diagnosis, maintenance, repair and overhaul of Heavy Duty Equipment.
