Job Details

Leadership

Provide Code and Standard interpretation

Contribute to the management of Oilserv to support business growth.

Mentor welder and welding Operators on the best and appropriate ways on achieving quality and acceptable welds Provide advise to management on welders and welding operators performance and repair rate

Support engineering team in design analysis and material selection

Coach and mentor quality team to ensure professionalism and proficiency.

Core/Technical

Oversee the qualification and approval of Welding Procedure Specification.

Update Welding Procedure Specification and Procedure Qualification Record Register. Oversee the qualification of Welder and Welding Operator’s Performance Qualification. Update Welders and Welding Operators Register.

Evaluate Welders Repair Rate and Performance.

Review and approval of vendor and sub-contractors welding documents.

Carryout Root Cause Analysis and Weld Failure Analysis in order to initiate and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Evaluating existing and modern welding processes, procedures, equipment and techniques for optimization purpose.

Analyse engineering design for welding requirements.

Advises project and Construction teams on all welding and welding consumable issues. Carryout and Participate in welding and welding related audit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering Field
  • Qualification/Certification in any of the following or its equivalent
  • International Welding Engineering Certificate (IWE)
  • European Welding Engineering Certificate (EWE) American Welding Engineering Certificate (AWE)
  • Minimum of 10 years in Welding Engineering, with at least 5 years in the oil and Gas/ Construction Establishment.
  • Proficiency in the major 5 welding processes.
  • Proficiency in material selection and metallurgy
  • Proficiency in the use and interpretation of major IOC specification and international codes and standard.
  • Proficiency in Engineering drawing interpretation, weld mapping and extraction of welding details.
