Job Details

Leadership

  • Provide positive and professional leadership to staff in the project Community Relations team
  • Contribute efforts to support Oilserv business growth
  • Delegate appropriate responsibility for the provision of CR services whilst retaining overall accountability for the delivery of services on the project
  • Provide advice and support to departments and assigned projects on matters relating to issues within the remit of Community Relations and Stakeholder management
  • Support the implementation of the Group’s CR policy and Procedure Manual
  • Coach and mentor the CR team to ensure professionalism and the company’s core values are maintained 

Core/Technical

  • To manage the day-to-day relations between the OSL and project host communities, stakeholders, and the public.
  • To serve both a proactive and trouble-shooting role in maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with all stakeholders.
  • To provide counsel and guidelines and recommend protocol, procedure, and actions to facilitate effective interactions with government departments, ministries, and agencies on the interpretation of the company's various agreements and regulations.
  • To monitor the implementation of Early Warning Systems and community surveillance systems for timely anti-conflict action and ensure coordination and monitoring of the company's community development programs.
  • Promote an enabling environment that would enhance the operational effectiveness of the company without disruption to the host community.
  • Holds periodic meetings with the CROs, chiefs, government agencies, and other stakeholders on conflict management and resolutions
  • Promotes and Proactively manages the image of the company to various segments of the public, government agencies, groups, and media
  • Participate in community forums, make presentations, and engage broadly with interested community groups to positively share the practical elements of the Petroleum sector.
  • Develop the industry’s capability in the Conservation & the Environment field and be the association expert on conservation as it relates to the industry.
  • Assist companies/members in navigating their way through the community management framework
  • Perform any other assignments to be determined by the Group Head, Community Relations, and stakeholder management

Requirements

  • LLB/BA/B.Sc./HND (Engineering, Management or Social Sciences.) or any related course
  • Relevant Professional Certification is an added advantage
  • Minimum 15 years post post-qualification experience
  • A minimum of 5 years in a senior CR leadership role
