Job Summary
• Inspect and verify pipeline welding processes, procedures, and completed welds according to API 1104, and project-specific requirements • Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) • Perform a Welding Test based on the proposed Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS),
Job Details
- Conduct necessary inspections and tests, document all variables and results, and then verify compliance with relevant standards
• Formulate Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) base on documented qualification variables and results
• Conduct visual inspections of fit-up, root pass, fill passes, and completed welds
• Verify welder qualifications and maintain documentation of welder performance qualifications
• Monitor environmental conditions affecting welding operations
• Perform material verification and tracking
• Document all inspection activities and maintain detailed records
• Issue non-conformance reports and oversee corrective actions
• Conduct field training and mentoring of welders as needed
• Thorough understanding of welding processes and techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
• Conduct various inspections, including: Visual inspections. Non-destructive testing (NDT). material testing, welding inspections, visual inspections, and pressure testing,
Requirements
- Education to HND / Bachelor’s degree level in an Engineering discipline, equivalent
- Professional Experience (number of years): 5-10 years’ experience with Project background within Oil & Gas industry.
- Quality Control experience is required. Experience on cross country pipeline a plus.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in all aspects of welding, NDE and applicable codes and standards such as ISO, API, ASTM and ASME.
- Welding and NDE certificate are MANDATORY along with a recognized Quality Assurance or Quality Management qualification such as formal training in the new ISO 9001:2015 Standard.
- The ability to communicate well at all levels within the Company. In addition, the Candidate must possess very good planning, coordination, presentation, negotiations and organizational skills.
- Fluent in English both verbally and in writing
- Be skilled in using computer programs for word processing, database management, spreadsheets and e-mail communications and MS Project or equivalent a plus.
