Job Summary
The Process & Mechanical Engineering Design Coordinator shall be the Subject Matter Expert/Technical Authority in the disciplines of Process & Mechanical design engineering and shall possess core design experience while some field experience will also be of advantage to the candidate. . This position is an EPC engineering-oriented discipline position and not strictly a design engineering role. He will assist to properly provide the correct Oilserv design guidance/direction to the design engineering subcontractor before commencement of any design & also coordinate these disciplines aspects with the subcontract discipline engineers under him and the design engineering subcontractor to ensure Oilserv execution objectives are met during design and ultimately flawless construction/fabrication. He will be reporting functionally to Oilserv Engineering Manager and indirectly to the Project Manager of any project ongoing.
Job Details
- Reporting to the Oilserv Engineering Manager, the Process & Mechanical Engineering Design Coordinator will be responsible for managing all process & mechanical engineering activities across all Oilserv projects with engineering design scope.
- Maintain regular and continuous interface and working collaboration with the Process & Mechanical Engineering teams of any design engineering subcontractor on all project technical scopes guidance, inputs/issues/concerns towards the smooth completion of the design & construction scope of the project.
- Champion and drive the delivery of the Process & Mechanical scope of any Oilserv project within schedule, budget and quality expectations.
- Review and comment on all key Process & Mechanical deliverables from the design engineering subcontractor project before they are issued to the client.
- Reads and interprets P&IDs, specifications/datasheets, calculation notes, engineering standards and codes, and applies same to the design. He/she must also be well grounded to understand the use of modelling softwares such as Autocad, Hysis, Flarenet, Pipesim, Amitank, PDMS etc
- Performs independent calculations and studies to validate subcontractor calculation results, utilizing knowledge of engineering codes and standards as required.
- Participate in regular project technical meetings with (1) client/client rep. (2) engineering subcontractor team members on project technical issues.
- Build, maintain and manage all client/client rep. interface on Process & Mechanical issues scope for any Oilserv project.
- Pay regular and frequent site visits to the different Oilserv project sites to resolve, support and monitor piping/pipeline construction and installation activities.
- Support the Oilserv procurement department and procurement processes with required and relevant technical assistance to actively sustain the procurement process for project materials for the project.
- Supervise the activities of vendors and subcontractors working on mechanical packages installation works for any Oilserv project.
- Conduct Vendor/Suppliers/OEM document review and internal approval on all project materials.
- Represent Oilserv in any other technical and business capacity as may arise in any Oilserv project.
Requirements
- A minimum of B.ENG/TECH in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10+ years of working experience in oil & gas process & mechanical systems, design engineering and procurement support.
- COREN registration is a major prerequisite for this role.
